A new pneumatic band-pass filter. This device utilizes a pneumatic coupling condenser, with resonating diaphragms. Characteristics of band-pass filters with different combinations of diaphragms are tested and experimental data are compared with theoretical values. when a resonating diaphragm is used for either the input or output diaphragm, centre frequencies of 40Hz and 90Hz are obtained. These frequencies are about two or three times the natural frequencies of the resonating diaphragms and are affected by many design parameters. When two resonating diaphragms are used for the input and output sides, centre frequency becomes lower but the peak value of the gain becomes higher and shows a very sharp cut-off profile. (A)
